PLYMOUTH MORRIS MEN
Welcome to the Plymouth Morris Men Website!

On this site you can find out all about us, what we've been up to, and where we will be each week this summer via the links to our 'Where to see us in...' pages which have now been updated with our 'Provisional' 2009 programme. All the venues have now been confirmed.
You can easily see what's new to the site as the 'What's happening next?' and 'News' pages are all updated regularly with details of where to find us in the near future or what we've been up to recently.

Meet the Team
Nathan
Above is a portrait of Nathan, by David Folley our Painter-in-Residence. Nathan is the current Squire of Plymouth Morris Men and joined the team five years ago. He is an accomplished musician and plays various melodeons, the pipe and tabor and the guitar.

Other works by David are scattered throughout our website.

More images of the team by David can be viewed on our Flicker site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/4-sharing/sets) or on David's website www.folley.eu

Olympics 2012

Plymouth Morris Men are keen to recruit some agile young men to train up in order to perform for the 2012 Olympic ceremonies. The South West Olympiad Committee have expressed an interest in Morris dancing being part of the opening ceremonies in Weymouth, where the sailing events will be taking place. Plymouth Morris Men are sure the public would not be particularly thrilled to see a bunch of grey headed gentlemen staggering around. Several other teams around the country have been successful in recruiting men in their teens and twenties so if you, or if you think anyone you know, might be interested, please do get in touch.

Plymouth Morris Men have had a great couple of summer seasons recently, including a trip to Hungary and Serbia in July 2006 and Jersey in May 2007. This year we are off to south-western France for a Festival at Montrejeau in August.

Each year we make a donation to a charity and have raised over £3,500 over the last 7 years. On New Year's Day, 2009, we raised another £133 for the Macmillan Nurses at Derriford Hospital. On 23rd March 2009 we presented £300 to the St. Austell Brewery Charitable Trust for them to use on local causes.
Our nominated charity for 2009 is the Chestnut Appeal promoting Prostate Cancer Awareness.

More details of our charitable giving can be found on our 'Charitable Donations' page on the left.

We practise every Wednesday evening from October until the end of April at Plymouth Citybus Social Club from 8pm till 10pm. We would be pleased to see any prospective new members. Drop in and see us or our contact details are also available by clicking on the relevant link to the left.

If you've seen us recently, have found this site helpful or have any comments to make about the site, please add an entry to our Guestbook by clicking on the link at the bottom of the list on the left, or e-mail us at plymouth.morris@blueyonder.co.uk . It would be great to hear from you!
