The Tamar Concert Choir
The Tamar Concert Choir was originally formed in 1990 under the name South West Concert Choir, in 1993 the name was changed to the Tamar Concert Choir.
The Choir started with just six singers and now has 50 members. It was formed to sing easy listening music like Moon River, Panis Angelicus, Bohemian Rhapsody, You Raise Me Up.
We perform around 10 concerts each year, all for charity. We charge a small fee to cover our costs with everything else going to good causes. Please see the concert dates and programme pages for details.
We are pleased to have been granted National Lottery funding through the "Awards for All" scheme which allowed us to purchase new music, a concert piano system and other equipment to aid our rehersals.
We are a very friendly mixed choir and are always looking for new members especially men. Our Musical Director is David Lodge. We meet on Thursday evening at the United Reformed Church Hall, Powisland Drive, Derriford, Plymouth from 8pm until 10pm. Please come along, you will be guaranteed a warm welcome!
